Application forms for DNS admission are available at the time of announcement of CET by IMU.
Application forms for GME and ETO are available as per requirement.
Yes. You can fill the form leaving the space for class XII marks blank. The class XII marks are required to be intimated to us as soon as the results are declared (prior to confirmation of admission). Candidate will become ineligible in case he/she scores less than 60% marks in PCM.
No. Only online application form is available. Scan of documents as mentioned in the application need to be sent to mti@sci.co.in

No. The eligibility is at least 60% in PCM group.
You will be eligible for application in either of the programmes if you are less than 25 years at the time of admission and you have secured at least 60% marks in PCM group in 10+2 exam.
Yes. MTI conducts one to two courses of GME every year, which is a 8 months shore based and 6 months on-board training based programme. Selection of GME takes place as per requirement basis and same is advertised through our website (www.shipindia.com).
Medical Fitness
As per directives laid out by Directorate General of Shipping.
The Medical Test is conducted after the online test/interview and needs to be done by a DGS approved doctor only.
Yes, if it corrects your vision to 6/6 without glasses.
Fees and Scholarships
SCI-MTI charges a cost based fee only.
For DNS course, it is currently Rs. 6.50 Lakhs for male candidates and Rs. 5.60 Lakhs for female candidates, excluding the one time IMU fees.
For GME, it is Rs. 4.50 Lakhs for male candidates and Rs. 4.00 Lakhs for female candidates.
For ETO, it is Rs. 4.10 Lakhs at present.
The schedule of payment is shared with the selected candidates at their provided email addresses. Payment is preferred through NEFT/RTGS/Online and No cash is accepted.
MTI courses are eligible for educational loans disbursed by banks. You may approach any bank of your convenience, including the PSU banks. SCI-MTI provides the necessary bonafide letter stating the admission, duration, course fee, break-up of fee etc. for loan purpose.
There are few PSU banks that approach students after joining the Institute for convenient education loan, such as Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda etc.
Scholarships are awarded to the eligible students under the CSR activity of The SCI Ltd., subject to management approvals.
Refund policy are course-wise based on the duration of the courses. Same is conveyed to the candidates/participants prior to joining the Institute.
Programmes
Yes. The DNS course is affiliated to Indian Maritime University and GME & ETO courses are Directorate General of Shipping approved courses.
Marine Engg. course trains you for the engine side of the ship while the Nautical Science course trains you for the deck, navigation and cargo handling side.
Yes, there are many successful woman seafarers across globe of Indian and foreign nationalities as well. To promote females in the merchant navy profession, SCI-MTI also gives a fee concession in DNS and GME courses.

Campus Facilities
Yes. Long duration courses (DNS, GME, ETO) are compulsorily residential courses.
Yes, Girls have a separate hostel.
Allowed for short term courses only, but parking is at their own risk.
Mobile phones are allowed on campus except in the academic area. Personal laptops are allowed. The SCI-MTI campus is a Wi-Fi enabled campus and promotes use of internet for research and learning purpose.
The campus offers a variety of outdoor as well as indoor sports facilities.
Internship & Placements
SCI-MTI provides the placement on vessels for on-board training.
